How the Blue Ocean Competition works
From a problem you have noticed to a pitch the judges watch.

Register
Free, and open to any high school student anywhere in the world. Enter on your own or with a team of up to five.

Take the Mini-Course
The free Blue Ocean Mini-Course teaches you how to create an idea that stands apart, instead of competing with what is already out there. You finish it with a certificate.

Develop your blue ocean pitch
Start from a problem you have seen up close, and work out why your answer to it stands apart from everything already out there.

Record and submit
Record your blue ocean pitch as a video of up to five minutes, in whatever style you like. Upload it to YouTube and submit it through the form on this site.

Judging
Once the submission deadline passes, a panel of seasoned entrepreneurs, experienced business people and professors reviews the pitches, narrowing the field round by round.

Win and be recognized
Everyone who submits receives a Certificate of Participation, and top finishers receive a Certificate of Achievement — both worth adding to a college application. Global and regional winners are announced at the end of the season and receive cash prizes.
